November 17,  2008

 Dear parents,

Welcome back, everyone.  I think this should be a "normal" week.  There are no outings or special events planned, as far as I know.

I think the fifth graders enjoyed our visit to Luther High last Friday.  Thank you to our three drivers who transported us to Luther.

A number of students have completed some AR quizzes already this quarter.  Some time is being given at school for AR reading, but some reading should be done at home.  The at-home reading does count for Book It! too.  Several book order forms have been returned.  Please send them this week if your child wants to be part of the order.

This Wednesday a special presentation about our second quarter mission offering will be given during our chapel time.  Our project this quarter is the pregnancy counseling center in La Crosse.  Our offerings will continue to be collected on Wednesdays.  Food items can be sent to school on Wednesdays as well.

I hope you received the information about making a gift box for a Hmong child.  That would be a neat family project, don't you think?

I have a cutting project that is looking for volunteer.  All you need is a scissors and some time.  We are receiving the La Crosse Tribune twice a week.  The Tuesday and Thursday editions contain a serial story dealing with children during the Revolutionary War.  Since we don't get to this topic in social studies for awhile, I am looking for someone to cut out the installments and save them for us.  If you would be willing to do this let me know.  The project could be done at home if you want.  Thanks in advance for your help.

No one has answered the Extra-Credit question correctly as yet.

That is all for this note.  God's blessings on your week.

In Christ,

J. Lau
